iPhone or iPad not showing up?

Work through these in order.

1. Unlock the device. When it asks whether to trust this computer, tap Trust and enter the passcode. Connecting your iPhone walks through the first pairing.
2. Plug the cable into a USB port on the PC itself, not a hub. Use a cable that carries data, not a charge-only one.
3. The first time you plug in, give Windows a minute to install Apple's USB driver. If Windows Update is blocked on your PC, install the free Apple Devices app from the Microsoft Store instead.
4. Restart the PC, then plug the device back in.
5. If you use Wi-Fi sync, try the cable instead.
